4 Questions with The Grand Panic
The Grand Panic, hailing from Toronto, Canada, deliver tight electro-darkeness industrial rock in the vain of NIN and God Lives Underwater. “Kim” is one of the most powerful songs on the compilation with a brooding storm of angst pulsating in soothing waves of empathy. The road to No Lip was treacherous: singer/guitarist Jesse Page broke his arm which almost prevented him from contacting us! But fate has a funny way of working out and here’s Jesse’s take on 4 Questions:
1) Why should people pay attention to your band?
Tough one, can’t answer that.
2) Why did you decide to give Mohawk Bomb a try?
MBR has the right idea, they aren’t preoccupied with genres,just releasing artists they like. Good name and logo as well!
3) What are your plans for 2008? Music? Touring? Videos?
We have played a bunch of shows in Toronto, but are becoming cautious as to not wear out our name locally. Fortunately Toronto is big enough and The Grand Panic’s music is diverse enough to accommodate rock and electronic music fans alike, therefore allowing for a few more shows before winter hibernation/writing time.
We will be doing another video come winter with the same director as the last video for “Leave”
4) In the long term, what do you hope to accomplish with your music? Goals?
Most of all I would like my music to be genuinely appreciated and loved. I want people to feel the way I feel when I listen to The Grand Panic, I want their experiences and emotions amplified while my song plays over and over in their heads.
Money would be ok aswell I suppose
