4 Questions with The Prime Ministers

As we scoured the Earth for bands to include in No Lip Vol. 1, we came across some rockers out of Detroit. They are a pop-rocking quartet serving up melody along the lines of Cheap Trick and The Hold Steady. Here’s what they had to say to our 4 Questions:
1) Why should people pay attention to your band?
We’re a product of our ‘80s and ‘90s influences, which combine to make easygoing, unpretentious rock and roll with some dry humor in the lyrics. If that sounds up your alley, by all means give us a shot.
2) Why did you decide to give Mohawk Bomb a try?
It seemed like a good opportunity to bring one of our songs to a larger audience. Plus, the visual imagery of a “mohawk bomb” makes me laugh.
3) What are your plans for 2008? Music? Touring? Videos?
We’re writing new songs now and hope to record them in the fall for an ‘09 release. Until then, we’ll fit in as many shows as our various members’ busy vacation schedules allow. (Our bass player is going to Russia for a freaking month.)
4) In the long term, what do you hope to accomplish with your music? Goals?
I used to say that my personal goal was for us to get popular enough that I didn’t have to lift my amplifier in and out of my trunk any more. However, now I think we’ll be happy as long as we can keep writing and recording new music and reaching new people (one at a time, if need be).
