Mohawk Bomb Records is proud to finally announce our Fanffiliates Program – a way to share revenues with our fans who help spread the word and drive sales.

We have been working on this program for 4 years, but never had the time to get it off the ground. Sorry it took a while, but here it is!

Essentially, you get 30% of each sale you make. Payments are made once per month, for the previous month and only after you earn $25. To participate you MUST HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT.

Currently, the only offer we have is for Rise of Saturn’s “Sex, Drugs and Comic Books” in CD format. The cost to the end buyer is $10 (including shipping) and each Fanffiliate that successfully drives a sale earns $3 per sale!

Rise of Saturn, Sex, Drugs and Comic Books (Mohawk Bomb) If there’s one band that has the potential to break out on the road and capitalize on their funky “Cee-lo meets Ozomatli” vibe, it’s these guys. If you caught them at our Loafies Awards show, you know why they recently scored a live audition for the producers of America’s Got Talent. For fans of hip-hop, jazz, funk, classic rock, reggae, Latin, fusion, prog, alternative, and, y’know, music in general.

Every year, I pay yearly “maintenance” fees to keep our back catalog on sites like iTunes, eMusic, Rhapsody and others. I have decided to stop doing this. Seems silly to fork over a large percentage of sales to a store that doesn’t do much for me and then have to pay a yearly fee to keep them there. These online stores are becoming greedy and taking more and more from artists. Nowadays, artists can make 100& of the money themselves. Which is why I will only offer our back catalog through this site. You can go to the “Discography” link and browse our catalog.

New releases, however, will be put on those stores for the first year.

As you all know, times are tough. Since we started cranking out music in 2008, it has been an uphill battle against low music sales, the tanking economy and the ballooning of music creation costs. It is because of all this that Mohawk Bomb Records is in dire straits. But you can help.

Rise of Saturn has teamed up with Kickstarter to help them raise money to record an album and revive the label.

Essentially, Kickstarter helps people find backers for their creative projects. In return, the fundees (the band) promise to deliver on certain promises. From getting a free CD to getting a custom song written, backers definitely get their money’s worth and help a struggling artist in the process. See the entire list of rewards or click on the widget. If this project fails, we may have to close our doors. Of course, you can also help by purchasing any of our releases too. Regardless, it’s been a fun ride. We hope to stick around for a long time. It’s really… up to you.

Mohawk Bomb Parts Ways with Ascending to Avalon

Mohawk Bomb is sad to announce that we have parted ways, amicably, with Ascending to Avalon. The guys are excersing the “self-release” clause in their contract and releasing Behold the Wicked on their own. Having only months left on their term, we have mutually agreed that it would be the best course of action to part ways.

We are still cool and there are no hard feelings. We wish them the best.
