Bull Lee is another repeat offender in the No Lip compilation series. Their true and decadent song “Fairfax Ave.” is an cautionary tale, named after the street in LA of the same name where many a people have gone to party for years to erode their better judgment. Co-writers John Dissed and BC Furtney took some time to chat with us about No lip Vol. 2 and their plans for 2009.

900 Pound Gorilla is back on No Lip Vol. 2 with a bad ass song called “Big Fat Limo”. 9PG is a hard-working LAX band that has high-energy punk rock songs and clever sing-along lyrics (for fans of old school Pennywise). John Baker, 9PG’s guitarist/vocalist, took a few minutes and talked with us about the LA music scene and their plans for 2009.

Two No Lip Vol. 2 Tracks debut on The Overflow
Two tracks from the upcoming No Lip Vol. 2 compilation have made their debut on the UK-based underground music show The Overflow with Garry Lee. The Overflow is the first radio show in the World to play tracks from the compilation.
Playlist 309 features Soul Destroyer’s “Seeing Red” and 900 Pound Gorilla’s “Big Fat Limo”. The three-hour rock music show features new music from indie and established artists. For example, Garry spun new Cortney Love tracks, a new Von Bondies song and even new stuff from Marianne Faithful.
In 2008, The Overflow also spun tracks from other Mohawk Bomb Records releases like No Lip Vol. 1 and Soulfound’s “Is a Rock Band”.
